The drainage from 8tallets roof is lead to the nearby lakes and canals of Copenhagen. Veg Tech in 2011 and 2013 planted the southern shores of these lakes with wide mats at the behest of Ørestadens water guilds. Similarly, Veg Tech supplied water vegetation to the five islands that are brought into the canal along the Bella Center in the summer of 2013.
