WSUD in Risvangen-Vorrevangen, Aarhus

The sewer system in Risvangen/Vorrevangen is old and has to be renovated. At the same time, the area has to be adopted to the climate changes to avoid flooding of basements and contamination of bathing place “den Permanente”.

In the future the rainwater will be diverted and infiltrated in the ground or attenuated in basins.

Because the area represents a broad extract of the different houses and roads in Aarhus the solutions that will be developed for this area can be used in other parts of the city, where they have similar problems. The Water Company wants to get more experience in the use of WSUD and different types of climate adaptation.
