Infiltration of rainwater in raingarden at Stig Lommers Square, Frederiksberg
Stig Lommers Square is a modern railway station square by Flintholm Frederiksberg where the rainwater from the site is infiltrated locally in a rain garden. The Square is shaped by three elements; the coated surface, the grove (rain garden) and a rain water system. The Grove of pruned oaks will ventually form a small forest in the square. The square is paved with cobblestones and rainwater drains away in broken water channels in untreated iron that runs against the 165m2 rain garden. The rain garden is planted with plants, that can withstand humidity and species such as willow, and elder and a varied base of grasses and herbs. The rain garden can store 50 m3 rainwater and infiltrate the same amount.
