WSUDS in connection with the renovation of the housing block, Amager

The backyard and outdoor areas surrounding the building block was completely renovated. The goal was to create an outdoor environment with a higher recreational value to the residents. The emphasis is on improving the framework for a welcoming social environment with confidence, robustness and increased biodiversity but with low operating costs.

Today the residents benefit from the solution with more opportunities for play and exercise and experience. The chosen plants creates attraction over the years but also an interplay between surface and Space.

There were performed visible WSUD-systems that support the varied expressions and spaces in the backyard. Rain gardens and water gutters in terrain are part of the device and contributes to increased biodiversity.
