Fire station, Østerbro, green roof

In April 2010, a trial roof was established with 2 different types of extensive green roofs from Nykilde and a reference area with roofing felt in order to examine the rainwater balance in green roofs and the quality of runoff rainwater. Precipitation is measured in situ with a resolution of 0.2 mm, and the runoff is collected separately in three tanks. Flow is measured indirectly by measuring the level in the tanks using pressure gauges, and a data logger is used to log the level every minute. The trial has been initiated with funding from Københavns Energi and the Danish Council for Technology and Innovation. The ambition is for this to run over several years.
